To all the mommies reading.... Happy Mother's Day!!! Hope you had a great one :)

Mine has not ended. Sadly my son is still up at 11pm in his room and Kade JUST fell out of bed and is sitting on the couch beside me. Kind of the perfect ending to the kind of day I had.

Grandma came over for supper and the kids were really excited! Kade and Ro had a ton of fun making her heart cards. I of course was in deep trouble as I ran out of time today. We forgot to put the sparkles on. Of course that totally ruined the cards for Rohan. Grandma still loves them I will bet!

Rohan HAD to get this cake while we were grocery shopping. His starting to read is wreaking havoc on my shopping routines lol ;)

I wanted a pic of the two of them.... and ended up with this :) LOVE it. They are too cute together. I would have gotten one with Kade... but seriously she was COVERED in orange cake. COVERED. Noone wanted to go near her!

I had the priviledge of tanking some super cute kids pics today!!!! This is not the first time either :) I am so lucky to have met so many amazing people doing something I love.
And C is one of those amazing people. Sessions with her family are just full of fun... talking... laughing... seriously they could go on for hours lol. We had so much fun today.... Can't wait to get through these!!!

She thinks she might love me. Awww melt my heart. 3 year olds can really be the cutest!

You may remember this little cutie from this newborn session !!! Oh what a sweetheart. I want to keep him.

365 day 164 phew what a day!

I was setting up for a session today. It was after soccer and before my kids went over to my sisters. OBVIOUSLY this was not planned. My kids came to where I was sitting up and posed for me. Even smiled. And the best part?

I never asked them to.

365 day 163 two year olds can NOT make jello | Calgary children's photographer

Well. Some of you may remember Rohan sleeping in Kade's clothes and latex gloves. don't forget the pettiskirts either. Or my kids spilling sugar all over our room Or seriously one of my CRAZIEST days ever.

I have had many trying days. MANY. Rohan put both of us through the wringer. Dion thought he might not make it to 4 lol. And now I can honestly say I LOVE 4. He is so different. The craziness has mostly stopped. I have stopped crying every single day ;) Really enjoying 4.

Now guess what? Kade is almost 3. Her 2 compared to Rohan? She's got nothing on him. Seriously. I have said.... God would never give me another Rohan. He knew I just couldn't handle another lol.Now she is almost 3 (I thought 2 would have to be ther worst with Ro. Who knew 3 would almost kill me.). So she is starting to pull some inpressive stuff.

A few months ago my showers were like 10 seconds. Because seriously... anything could happen. They can get into more than one would think in that time. And have. Ran outside in pj's in the snow, decorated themselves with makeup, unrolled toilet paper rolls up and down the stairs, overflowing sinks, seriously... they've done it all. At the time I thought OMG, I can NOT take anymore. Someone save me. And there were tears. Lots of them. It was really really hard.

Now... what a difference. Rarely do I deal with the craziness. And just recently I have learned to look at it differently. Why? Because it's over so fast. It really honestly felt like a lifetime during it, but now it seems like a snap.

So today.... when I was face with this when I came down.... I decided to LAUGH. and LAUGH hard. Why? Because it IS funny.  Kade decided to make jello. This is what I get for blow drying my hair for once (mommy and me day at Ro's school). While I was blowdring my hair Kade
opened the pantry
opened a rubbermaid container
took out a jellobox
opened it
cut open the inner package WITH SCISSORS
dumped the jello all over the floor, herself, the counter, the sink, and a bowl
fill the bowl with water and mix

YES I HAVE REALLY LONG HAIR!!!!!

So when she heard me coming she decided to *clean* up the evidence. Seriously... AS IF Kadence!!!!

Kids can make a person crazy. Now I let them make me laugh. And it felt so much better than getting mad. Because getting into trouble is one of the things my kids do best. But what we ALL can do THE ABSOLUTE best is to LAUGH.

365 day 162.. put on your shades | Calgary children's photographer

I had this *bright* idea today. I have seen people use yellow seamless and I love it. Not having time to go downtown and get some I was giving up on it. Then today I saw they had fabric at IKEA. Who knew? They have a ton of kid friendly bright colors.... all things I am totally down with.
So I bought a couple for an upcoming session thinking they would be nice and bright and fun.

Well...... I sure got the BRIGHT part down! WOW that yellow is bright!
It is pretty cheery and fun to look at - can't wait to see what it looks like printed :) My model was ummm shall we say not into it. She had fallen asleep in the car, and no matter how hard I tried she just kept falling back to sleep. so I let her for a bit and then really woke her up. Which sent her into fits of tears of course. AND then I was telling her I needed to take her pic.... you can imagine how into that she was!
I finally got a few of her smiling.... in between all the tears.

 This is my very fav pic.... seriously I thought the fun yellow in combo of her reading her lil miss sunshine book would be AWESOME. She thought otherwise.

The never ending change of Calgary weather. Once again hoping it clears up so Ro can play soccer on Saturday. Nice to see a lot of green grass popping through the snow though ;)

So today I am going to do my check in for my 6 week weight loss goal. Remember that? 20lbs in 6 weeks?
Well it has been 2 weeks..... and now reality sets in. MUST.TRY.HARDER.
I have lost 2 lbs.
So I kicked it up today. And as I was running... you know just wanting to pass out I found my mantra. All I could think of was this 'When you think you can absolutely positively go no further, push yourself a little farther. Amaze yourself with what you CAN do.' and then I doubled my run and double my crunches.

GAME ON PEOPLE. GAME ON.

365 day 160... CURBS. | Calgary photographer

This was for yesterday's post. But I went out to the movies with my sister :)
We saw The Backup Plan. I am sooo predictable. She let me pick. Guess that choice wasn't a suprise to her lol.
It was so so funny!!!!! If you have had kids - I think it is so hilarious!!!! One of my fav J Lo movies in a long time. Not to mention her smokin body.... I WANT IT. and am now def kicking it in to high gear. Seriously... you will leave with envy if you are anywhere near my position of wanting to lose weight!!!

So, back to the curbs. Dion finished his first curbing job and it looks FANTASTIC!!! I love the curbs she chose - belgian block. Very gorgeous. They look great and will look even better once the sidewalk is poured!!!
